Position- R&D Specialist
Years of experience: 8 to 12years
Job Grade -9
Key Responsibilities:
· He/She has the responsibility for specifying, planning, reporting, designing, reviewing in his/her technical area (e.g. several features)
· Is an expert for techno-economical aspects in own responsibility area.
· Leads and executes technical activities and projects in own responsibility area.
· Supports resource and program planning. Writes requirements, specifications and other guiding documentation for R&D from a technical point of view. May work also outside of own process area on technical issues. Solves complex engineering problems in many technology areas.
· Coaches other team members in solving complex engineering problems. Undertakes technical training responsibilities.
· Software Architecture and feature ownership of features/product version under development.
· Mentorship for Engineers/Senior Engineers/Technical Leaders
· Technical Consultation for Leadership team
· Propose innovative technical/non-technical solutions to tactical and strategic issues.
· Contribution to Technical Competence management and development of the team members & the organizational objectives.
Skills required :
· Proven experience in providing technical solutions to a wide set of requirements/problems
· Expertise in C++ & UNIX/Linux with experience in multi-threaded architectures
· Working knowledge of optimization techniques and performance tuning
· Understanding of emerging technologies and relevance to market place. Ability to choose the best fitting technology for the given problem
· Effective use of reading, writing, oral communication skills, presentation
techniques
· Domain: Mobile Core (GSM/GPRS/UMTS), Subscriber Repository (HLR)
· Knowledge of relevant 3GPP & IETF Standards.
· Experience in distributed, high available and redundant solutions.
· Ability to mentor the team members and guide them into becoming experts in certain fields.
· Ability to work across multiple teams
Preferred Skill:
Working knowledge of Agile engineering practices
